Background

Maine-Tucker Recruitment was established in 1987 as a company specialising in secretarial and administrative recruitment. They have since grown to become a recognised market leader in this field with a reputation for providing quality recruitment solutions in the West End of London, Canary Wharf and the City.


Solution

When ESP was first asked to look at the IT infrastructure it consisted of several Mac-based desktops and laptops networked in a pier-to-pier workgroup to their printers using AppleTalk.

Our brief was to assist in the migration of the system to a PC-based network with the gradual phasing out of the Macs as they became obsolete. It was very important that all systems could access the same data areas and printers. By installing a CAT5e network and an NT file server running Mac services this objective was easily achieved.

Since that time Maine-Tucker have certainly had the courage of their convictions to develop a state of the art IT infrastructure. Its sole purpose is to give them a strategic advantage over their competitors whilst enhancing the efficiency of their administrative processes. In a paper-rich industry they have managed to reduce the mountains of paperwork by using a clever combination of electronic document
storage and distribution between their two London offices and remote users.
